Personality: Melissa is a fairly headstrong young woman who is very protective over nature. Though she is often made fun of for her way of dressing and is thought of as easy in terms of sexuality, she is very brave and will put her foot down if anyone tries to take advantage of her in any way, shape or form. While Melissa enjoys spending quiet time in nature, she prefers to be loud and talkative, and spends a good majority of time learning about the various gossip pieces around school. She loves to share information of any kind and can be very nosy, but considering her relaxed nature, most people don't mind it as much.

Personality: Janice is a bright and playful child, as most children are, with a keen sense of observation (unlike her mother). Strangely wise for her age, Janice can tell easily when something is bothering someone, and tries to help in any way she can. With a calm and relaxed nature, Janice enjoys life as it comes, and always tries to teach others to do the same. She is always cheerful, but unlike her mother, is far from afraid to cry. She is easily scared.

Likes: Plants, gardening, tomatoes, teddy bears and watching her mother cook.
Dislikes: Most bugs, being alone, math and spicy things.
Hobbies: Gardening and trying to cook.

History

Janice doesn't remember her parents at all, and lived on the street for most of her early years. At age three, however, Janice was taken in by Chloe and they grew close fairly quickly. As she never was able to remember who her parents were or when she was born, they always used her adoption date as her birthday. Because she was still working with Chloe to adjust to adoption and the like, she started school a year late.

Janice has a grudge against her 'uncle', Shawn Kitski, and tends to call him "Uncle Sourpuss". She doesn't really know her aunt well enough to have any interest in her, and she considers Richard her grandfather. Even though she never met Chloe's mother, she enjoys going with Chloe to the burial place of her mother each year, and gives thanks to her 'grandmother' for trying so hard to help her mother so long.

While she is a school student, Janice does have a high amount of wisdom for a child her age. She gets along with most of her classmates, but spends most of her time alone trying to help her mother. She is known for worrying and seeing situations for what they were, more than her mother could. She has a strange sense of understanding the idea of romance and relationships for adults compared to other children, and is often teased for it.

Personality: On the outside, Chloe is a cheerful and energetic spirit who rarely is seen being still. She is always moving, always busy. She always seems to have a smile on her face, but her cheerful spirits are often a protection from her real feelings. Chloe suffers from severe depression and anxiety, and is easily afraid of attachment. While she'll easily talk to virtually anyone, it is never about her emotions, and if it is, she usually lies and says she is perfectly fine. She is fairly independent and always tries her best to get her work done with good ability, but she has a tendency to use it to keep from letting her true feelings out as well. She is a health fanatic as well, though that is actually part of her emotions, unlike most of her personality.

Likes: Cooking, running, flowers, cookbooks, cleaning, strawberry tarts, etc.
Dislikes: Sitting still, anything particularly spicy, attachment, school-work.

History

Chloe was born normally, and was always fairly close to her mother. She never met her father, and had always grown up taken care of well for years. She had an older brother, but was never close to him because she despised his lazy attitude towards life. She never got over that grudge.

When Chloe was in elementary school, her mother was put in the hospital due to illness that had come up very suddenly. She had left the school that day early, and decided the day her mother was allowed home to get a job to help support the family. She got a job at a local bakery from a man who had always treated her like a daughter. Even though she was illegally working, no one seemed to mind, since all she did was cheer up people most of the time, and no one knew she was actually an employee.

During her last year of middle school, Chloe left school early again, but this time because her mother had passed away. She'd kept working for years at the same bakery, and her older brother had been starting college already. As usual, her grudge against her brother only got worse. After her mother passed, the man who ran the bakery offered to help take care of her, and so she moved into an apartment upstairs from the bakery she worked in. She continued to help at the bakery, ran track, and went to school as normal, though she began to distance herself more from her classmates (Especially the day after her mother's death, when someone confessed to her. She ran away without answering.)

At age fifteen, Chloe met a young child named Janice on the streets. Feeling horrible seeing the girl's condition, Chloe took the child in, and after a few weeks of bonding, the two became close like a mother and daughter. At sixteen, the fatherly owner of the bakery helped her apply to adopt the child, so at sixteen she was officially a mother. Throughout high-school she continued to work to take care of her daughter, continued running track, and kept her life going as usual. However, around the same year, she began to find her depression worsening, which lead to cutting and alcoholism at the same time. No one knows about her cutting as she always wears long-sleeve shirts, but it was always easy for anyone, even Janice, to tell if she'd had a drink recently.

Fun Facts

Chloe's family originated in Russia. Her mother got pregnant with her there, but moved to america before Chloe was born.

Her brother, Shawn, married a nurse he met while at medical school. While she is far from close to her brother, Chloe gets along very well with her sister-in-law, Mabyn.
